Young@Heart

I’m a PBS nut, so I am not surprised to see such an amazing documentary.  This evening while watching Young@Heart I decided to pull out a notepad and write this blog entry.  This is not a typical entry about the normal doamaining adventures that I have partaken in.  This entry is about life and how you are never to old to accomplish the goals you have set for yourself!

While listening to some of the most angelic sounds my ears have ever heard, I felt compelled to share the enjoyment that I felt.  The documentary is about a group of senior citizens who are young at heart.  Not a simple concept to explain but it is one of those amazing stories I just had to share.  This group sings some of the most amazing tunes ever written.

During the documentary two of the choir members pass away, but the show must go on!  After watching the documentary for little over an hour you can’t help but to feel the loss.  It is almost as if you were part of the group!

Robert Salvini and Joe Benoit are remembered with a song dedicated to them, performed by a fellow choir member named Fred.  He performs “I’ll Fix You” while breathing out of an oxygen canister.  This is probably one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen.  I was simply stunned.  All I can say is if you missed the airing of this broadcast then please either purchase the DVD from Amazon or find out when it will be showed again on your local public broadcasting station.

As a domainer this just shows me never to give up as it is never too late to live your dreams out.  I am 29 years old and am well on my way to living my dream every single day of my life.  I plan on purchasing the DVD to support both PBS and the Young@Heart choir.  They are truly an inspiration and deserve every dollar they get.  Hopefully one of these days I’ll have the pleasure to see them perform live.

“Live Your Dreams Now!  It Is Never Too Late!”
