You Gotta Love Google Public Service Ads
Now before I get into this slight dilemma I want everyone to know that I am for public service and love non for profit organizations. Recently I built a mini site and noticed that some of the ads which are showing on this site tend to be public service ads. According to Google when a new site is built it could take up to 48 hours for them to crawl your site to display the appropriate advertisements.
Well its been over 48 hours and public service ads are still displaying on my site. I am beginning to think that I might not have enough valuable content for proper advertisements to be displayed. Its no secret that the main reason why I built this site is to inform the customer with valuable information and monetize it while do so.
Now lets talk about one other important fact. I didn’t mention that this site was built on a (.us) based domain name. Could this be one of the problems? I would have a hard time believing if this was the case because I have never seen anything about a domain extension causing problems with adsense. Ideally I ant to believe that Google is perfect, but in this case they are definitely far from this notion.
In the end all I can do is monitor the site on a daily basis and experiment. Maybe adding more content will help, it certainly can’t hurt to try. For those of you wanting to look at the site that I built, you can check it out here:

Hmm, PSA’s for me as well. I hit all the pages, refreshed the home page a few times. After that long and with other people hitting the page, that usually does it. Well I’m sure it will update soon.
Normally I’d say who cares, just sell some on Amazon… but how likely are you to sell one there? And look at that CPC, I had no idea – Wow!
Which reminds me I got a wheelchair lift domain… not as good as your domain in number of searches, but a .com and it has a nice CPC as well.

John, the CPC is crazy on that phrase! Now you know exactly why I desired to register it. Yah I tend to risk registering a .us domain name when it comes to such a high CPC.

To be brutally honest, your site is pretty shit and I think it is a disservice for anyone to have their advertisments on it.
BTW, come and visit a bunch of us friendly aussie domainers on DNtrade.com.au! We love to chat (except Netfleet who have not made a post since they were reprimanded for spamming a competitors customers).
Keep blogging!

I think its a disservice for you to criticize a work in progress. You’re obviously a bitter domainer, but who cares I certainly don’t. I’m sure you probably know everything, therefore I won’t waste my time typing another word. Try harder! Damn it I just wasted to words, let me shut up now.

I gave up on adsense long time ago… it is just a waste of time… disabled accounts for no reason, 3 cents clicks and alike, checks on the mail, no customer support whatsoever, incomprehensible large tos, even for parked domains. Go for CPA, it is all in the mind. You ask you shall receive.

DomainS I know what you mean, I’ve got a few friends who have run into the same problem. Some actually had money which still hasn’t been paid that they earned. Its a risk, but I also know a few people doing quite well with it so I’m gonna give it a try.

I did get ads on the home page but public service on the rest.
