Who Cares About .XXX PornFilm.net Is On Auction At NameJet

So who in the world cares about (.xxx) well apparently a lot of people do and just like any other TLD there will be money to be made.  Will I be registering a (.xxx) in the near future?  The answer to that is absolutely not.  I am going to stick to the domain extensions I am used to.

A couple days a week I tend to search through the pre-release and pending delete domain names at NameJet and this time around I came across a domain name which caught my attention.  It directly applies to this topic and in my opinion completely trumps most of the (.xxx) domain registrations we will hear about in the near future.

As we all know (.com) is an awesome investment and both (.net) / (.org) come in as as great alternatives.  I can not shun the nature of any domain name regardless of what industry it might pertain to.  The adult industry is real and there are a large amount of domainers who actually started off within the adult entertainment industry.  Some became quite wealthy and reinvested there profits into less controversial business endeavors.

There are currently 26 bidders bidding on PornFilm.net and the auction ends within twenty-two hours.  I can’t help to think how many bidders would actually partake in such an auction if the name were PornFilm.xxx!  Who knows, but I have a hunch that there wouldn’t be as much competition.  If (.com) is king then (.net) is the queen and we must realize that there is plenty of value within domain extensions that have forged themselves within our digital lives.

To those of you investing in (.xxx) I wish you the best of luck, hopefully you don’t find yourself left holding the bag as I did with one of my (.cm) domain names.
