What Do Renewal Notices And Spam Boxes Have In Common?
The infamous renewal notice can sometimes be the last lifeline a domainer gets as a reminder to renew a domain name. Just as we think that we have everything figured out the renewal notice some how never gets to our inbox and we enter panic mode once we realize someone now owns the domain name that we worked are ass off to get. Sound familiar? Well, if it hasn’t happened to you then cross your fingers as it tends to happen more often then you think!
Do you remember my last post, Ted2011 Speaker Aaron Koblin Forgets To Renew TheSheepMarket.com? If you don’t then click on the link! To refresh your memory Aaron Koblin who is known around the world for some of his digital masterpieces let an important domain expire called TheSheepMarket.com. I noticed that this domain name expired and while writing an entry about the matter I decided to contact him directly. Fortunately I was able to reach Aaron and he was lets say SHOCKED! Here is the email I received from Aaron:
Holy shit!
“The following domain name(s) are set to automatically renew on the expiration date(s) listed:
THESHEEPMARKET.COM – Mar. 01, 2011″
I wonder what happened : /
