Teaming Up To Acquire Domain Names
Recently an opportunity for a domain acquisition presented itself. The domain was similar to a domain name that a business associate of mine sold for $xx,xxx. I met this business associate at DOMAINfest where we planned to work together on future projects. I quickly decided to contact this business associate and let him know the domain name which was up for auction on NameJet. He promptly stated that he was willing to go half on the domain name.
The auction surpassed the budget we set, but I learned a great deal in this process. Sometimes splitting a name down the middle is the best avenue to take. If you can decrease your risk by 50% and increase your spending power by 50% then why not! This process opened up a new door for me, one which I can knock on at any and all times to pitch an idea about a potential domain acquisition and be provided with an equally motivated partner to join forces with. Best of all, this process taught me that I am no longer in the domaining industry as a single entity. I have people I can depend on to help me accomplish the goals I have set for myself.
As I continue down the path of domaining, the circle of connections that I have continues to grow. I now have the potential to tackle large acquisitions and development projects because of this. Acquiring domain names as a team will play an important role in my future as a domainer. I look forward to those future projects. Teaming up with others in my opinion is a no brainer!

I think it’s a great idea only because it’s a niche directory. I’ve been focusing on niches like crazy… it’s like finding my domaining self all over again. I’m not done with experimenting, but I see some seriously great results. Probably have to talk about it more in depth during the next SoCal Domainers meet!
Best of luck! Blog about it when you develop. Curious as hell to see how it turns out

Thanks Sammy! Niche directory sites are fun! Still waiting for the support team from nice coder to get back to me. They created a nice directory script but there support has always been slow to respond.
