Studying My Portfolio

Posted On Tuesday, February 23, 2010

The majority of my day was spent studying the domains in my portfolio.  I’ve been actively making acquisitions and have yet to audit all of the domain names I have acquired.  I don’t think I have ever owned more than 100 domain names at one time, but I do now and I am finding it a bit of a challenge to keep track of all of them effectively.

The next week will be spent studying my portfolio.  This is an important time for me.  I want to identify which domain names are worth staying and which are worth dropping.  This will be a difficult process for me, but identifying those troubled assets will allow me to free up money to register new domain names which perform better.

My day was long and a bit boring, but a domainer’s life can’t always be filled with fun and games.  Somtimes we need to take two steps backwards and really assess what we are doing.  This time has arrived for me!  After this process is done, I should have identified a handful of domain names which will require 95% of my attention.  I want to focus more and more on my development efforts.  We will see how far I get in the next few days.

What software do you use to analyse your portfolio? Do you use any? Anyone recommend any for a portfolio of 1500+ names?
