Plastic To Oil Generator On Nightly Business Report

While watching the Nightly Business Report this evening on KCET I learned about a company named Envion. The company has developed a process to convert plastic waste into oil. At that moment I realized how revolutionary such a concept was and decided to take a sip from my goblet (Pimp Cup). I then proceeded to think about how a domain pimp should treat this situation.

After contemplating for a few minutes I realized that Elliot Silver had a similar scenario occur to him recently. While watching 60 minutes Elliot found himself registering domain names based upon the information he learned on the show. In Elliot’s case the domains he registered pertained to the disposal of coal ash. How ironic, the domain name that I registered pertains to waste management as well.

In my case I registered oilgenerator.com, because this domain signifies the machine in which the plastic to oil conversion takes place. Before I registered the domain name I checked any trademarks on the term “oil generator” and there were none! I also visited the Envion company website and found out that the trademark they owned pertained to the term “Envion Oil Generator”. Last but not least I used the google adword keyword tool and researched the term “oil generator”. According to google this term received 12,100 searches within the month of August. I also used the google product search to find out if the keyphrase is currently a product which is already on the market. From my findings there are products listed with the keywords “oil generator” which in my opinion is another positive for this domain.

After I conducted my research, this was a no-brainer for me. I invision that such a machine will also be developed by competing companies and might even be as common place that household versions will be developed. Thanks to watching one of my favorite shows on television and remembering what a fellow domainer had done I was able to hand-reg one of my top domain names for this year.
