My Office (Renovation-Update)
If you are reading this post, we obviously have one thing in common. We are both office nerds! So its not as harsh lets replace the word “nerds” with “pimps.” Now that we have established that we are both office pimps, lets discuss the steps that I am taking to PIMP MY OFFICE!
Today was another day chalk full of excitement. I scurried down to our office building to meet with the painters. Since the painters were running thirty minutes late I decided to eat lunch for breakfast. I had the chance to scarf down a chicken breast sandwich on honey oat from Subway. Once the sandwich found a comfy place in my stomach I shot right over to 2007 Wilshire Blvd!
Once I arrived I spotted the painters taking the elevator up to my floor. They greeted me and we walked into a rehab in progress. Yes you can call this an office rehab project. After they inspected the room and the lead painter told his associate what needed to be done I proceeded to tell them that I would run to the ATM as I promised to pay them in cash. I felt it was important to pay a percentage upfront so they knew that I was serious. Keep in mind I recruited the painter a few blocks from my office, where he was busy painting the front of a storefront wall.
As I hopped back into the elevator I received a phone call from the painter and he said they needed water for the patching mix. This lead to an entirely new adventure. I looked at my keys and realized I did not have access to any of the bathrooms! Since we don’t have the luxury of having water in our suite we went on a hunt to see if anyone else had a key. Now keep in mind we are on the seventh floor! We finally ran into someone who worked in the building which provided access to the second floor bathroom! Can you say work out!
Now lets fast forward a bit. The lead painter left and said his associate would be done patching and smoothing out the walls within two hours. Since that was the case I decided to leave the associate in the office so he could concentrate on finishing the project. I then used my phone to locate the closest Chase ATM and found it about one mile away. After running to the ATM to take out cash I saw one of my favorite coffee shops. No not Starbucks, I saw Coffee Bean and ordered an ice blended caramel coffee.
Advance two hours forward and wired off of a caffeine buzz, I went back to my office to see how everything was going. To my amazement almost every crack, dip and chip was completely smoothed out. I was completely shocked! I didn’t think that it would look so good. This pretty much confirmed that the painters I found working on Wilshire are skillful enough to complete the office project. We’ve already been through one painter. I was a bit worried at first, but they have shown me that they can handle the job and to go further when I offered to pay a deposit fee to get everything started, the lead painter politely refused.
He said to pay him upon the completion of the project. WOW! This definitely made me one happy domainer. Tomorrow I have another 9AM appointment. This time all the painting will be completed. Although we still need to rip up and replace the old carpet, I have no problem in showing everyone the progress. I plan on taking a ton of photos tomorrow, so be ready!

I can just picture your excitement in your words. I remember my first office so know exactly how you are feeling.
Good for you Jason and good luck with the office. Look forward to seeing the finished project.

Thanks Patrick, there is a team of three painting the office as I type this. Should be done within the next 2 hours. I will make sure to have my camera to capture this milestone. Next step is to have the carpet ripped up and replaced. That should be fun as well.
Since I haven’t found anyone who is capable of doing this, I am probably going to post an ad on craigslist to find someone who is perfect for the job. Can’t wait to post some pictures of the newly painted office.
