A Tight Niche Community

The T.R.A.F.F.I.C Domain Conference & Expo has been one thrilling ride after the other.  Remember, I arrived to Las Vegas at around 2am in the morning.  As soon as I arrived in Las Vegas I received a call from Oscar and Ron, letting me know where they will be later that evening.  Turns out I arrived to Vegas just a couple hours late.  Apparently a party bus took conference goers from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to the Gold Lounge at Aria.  Domainers were then treated to VIP service, great food and open bar.

What more could you ask for?

Rhetorical question I know, but lets really think about this.  I just might of been able to attend this nightlife event!  Unfortunately I was not, but it didn’t end there.  Oscar was quick to update me and let me know that he and Ron were both eagerly awaiting my arrival.  Ok, maybe they weren’t as eager as I initially implied.  Infact they were worried I wouldn’t be able to get into Haze, so in theory they were actually doing me a favor by making sure I would be able to get into the nightlife venue without a problem.  Long story short, I was able to enjoy about an hour of VIP service with both Ron and Oscar.  In VIP I was greeted by fellow domainers.

After we left Haze I pleaded with them to go to Fat Burger, where I ate a Turkey Burger combo meal and they had slim fries. :)   They were both exhausted, but I was driving!

Now I am rambling on here.  Why?  Because I am still at TRAFFIC listening to some of the most knowledgeable minds in our industry.  While at Traffic I have been able to speak with a number of leaders in domaining.  Today, I spoke with both the Castello Brothers and Sahar Sarid from Bido.com.  This alone showed me how tight niche our community really is.  I personally had a chance to invite the Castello Brothers to our second Southern California Domaining Group meetup.

In conclusion, I can say the snow ridden highways and long detours were well worth it.  I finally had a chance to truly experience what it feels to eat, sleep and breath domaining.  It is 3:37pm here in Las Vegas and I am currently wired.  I’ve only slept for about 3 or 4 hours and don’t plan on getting any rest until all of the sessions have concluded.  This trip has allowed me to network with a great deal of domainers.  I can now truly say that “Damn it feels good to be a domainer!”
